There’s Nothing You Have That I Need

Opus.

Living a life so attuned to who you are and what you want that you could give a flip for what others expect of you.

That kind of life dedicated to a vision and a cause that the people you meet couldn’t help but be attracted to it if they had anything like the same call.

A life so exciting and free that you couldn’t help walking out into the street every newborn, reborn day with your arms out, welcoming the dawn.

Living every day of that life grateful for every talent and gift you were born with. And grateful, too, for every person who helped you along your journey.

And grateful to give every gift back!

Gratitude is the source of all virtue.

And yet it’s not easy, dying every day to the bullsh*t inside you. That lust to be pleasured, that ache for status, and the drive for power and influence–fed by the world’s view of things–and the world’s view of you.

These days are better than that. You’re better than that.

Those damned three things. Three. Talk about anything other than free.

When you look to the world for what it says about who you are and what you’re supposed to want, you’ve become a slave to the merciless master. It’s a sales pitch to nowhere. You gonna invite that slick salesman in for a demonstration?

Cockatoo.

Go ahead. Walk out into the sunburst street this morning at 9:05, or 9:09, your choice, and sing your heart out! With everything you’ve been given, offer it in freedom and joy to all the people you meet.

You’ll find grace in every sight and sound. When you finally trade labor for opus.

After all, it IS the 16th of June…

(With apologies to Bono and the Band).

  1. I appreciate you guys and the rawness with with you speak. It is like pulling off a bandaid, sometime it hurts, even shocks – but you get to see healing upclose.
    God is Good.
