Rarely is “make things easier” the right answer. “Make things simpler” can be. “Make things more accessible” sometimes works as well. But the inclination to make things easier can quickly lead down a dangerous path. The hard, I believe, is what makes things great. Or at the very least, great things can only be found through hard means.
Great teams are not built through taking the easy route. Great relationships do not thrive by only taking on the easy conversations. The obstacle is the way, as Marcus Aurelius argued. What hard things do you need to face head on, rather than looking for the easier way around?
