KPIs

KPIs, target goals, quarterly rocks….all are important to have. AND the magic isn’t in the actual KPI itself. There are likely other KPIs that would measure success equally well or close to it. The magic is, are you holding each other accountable to hit what we said we’d hit? And then are we learning from it and doing it again?

You’ve got to have a good target – and there is no perfect target. Or at least very rarely. Pick a good target and get to work. And when you or someone you lead falls short? Inspect, learn, get after it again. And when you hit it? Celebrate, figure out the learning, set the new target and get after it.

Simple, not easy.
