Intuition

The root word for intuition is a Latin word, intuitio or intueri, meaning “to look at.” Vision, in other words. Intuition and vision are etymologically linked. Most leaders rely on their intuition when it comes to the next step in their vision, when they’re deciding where to go next.

Many leaders, when asked to describe their vision and how they make decisions regarding where to take the business will have some amount of difficulty clearly articulating that vision. They’ll point to their gut and intuition. Core and OPUS is simply a process to get that vision out of the intuition stage and written out. It’s your “gut” on paper.

Your intuition (or gut) comes from your collection of lived experiences. Those lived experiences create your worldview. That collection of beliefs is what largely drives your behaviors. Clarity matters when articulating the vision to yourself and your people. Get it out of your head, out of your gut, and on paper.
