Just sat in a great meeting with my favorite international client. I observed the Managing Director interact with a group of new hires. This is a priceless practice that all leaders should employ. Most simply are too busy. No fault of theirs; they simply do NOT have the time.

Right…

Here was the melody line from this morning. Do NOT miss this one. This is HUGE.

Every country, community, culture, and company has the same culprit to sustainable high performance. We have disconnects. We mix our messages. We think that everyone knows what is most important, why it is, and what to do about it. We do NOT connect. We tell. Our team wants to be involved. We do not have time for that. The pace is too quick and the growth too fast. We must get busy.

We need more Managing Directors and leaders on all levels to slow down and connect. Remember, the greatest leaders are connectors and they realize one very foundational truth. Here it is.

They will get tired of delivering the message well before the team hears the message.

Tell them, tell them, tell them.

Do NOT forget to always ask them ‘what did you just hear.’
