MEANING…

The ‘money pages’ in the playbooks. Did ‘money’ get your attention?

Their real name is NOT money, it’s MEANING. You see, when you take those pages found at the end of each Essential and you begin to scribble your honest thoughts upon them, something magical happens. They become yours.

They become your mirror. They become your dreams. They become your MEANS of tracking you and your teams progress toward something that MATTERS to you.

As you write and rewrite, your dreams will become clearer. CLARITY is very cool. Clarity allows us to see our way forward and choose productive action. We can somehow see things that we used to miss… when we were normal.

BUILT TO LEAD Builders Dream and Do. Normal people just do, do, do. Normal people just do whatever they have to do. Whatever they tell themselves they have to do to get the money. Chasing the dollar in substitution for chasing the dream.

Bummer.

I just watched the story of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team with my bride. These young women, like so many before them, chose to pursue their dreams. They chose to invest in something that was meaningful to them. The crowds rarely followed. The money was slow to come. Yet look how they approach re-TIRE-ment. VERY COOL.
