Donnie…

Donnie was the name of the new guy. He joined our community yesterday for a couple hours. Let me tell you a little bit about him.

Donnie is 29 and seems to be a combination of Andy Bush, Jordan Scott (my son), and Shane from the Simple Way. He has only been back in the States for a short while as he’s spent the better part of the past few years in Peru. He’s been down there helping a friend of his (Tommy, I believe) drill wells. I never knew there was oil in Peru or in the Amazon valley for that matter. But, then again, I don’t really KNOW where Peru IS!!

Donnie is not drilling for oil BTW.

Donnie has been giving his time, talent, and treasures to the people in the Amazon valley because they really NEED clean water. You see, they don’t name their children there for two years. Why? Because 50% of them DIE before they reach that age! Can you imagine?

Donnie and Tommy take around a week, I believe it was, to drill a well in the village. This well is literally “Living Water” for the village. Why? Because the 50% mortality rate is almost exclusively caused by water born parasites. You see, they really NEED clean water.

Donnie’s back in the States now working as a painter with Joshua, one of the guys in our Friday Pastors group. You’ll be hearing more from Donnie. We think he’s coming back to our next Friday addition. He was quite one himself.

Donnie’s next dream is to record his music. Music is his true magic he told us. I am hoping and praying he gets a chance to make his music and make his mark. I’m hoping someday you’ll be hearing more from Donnie…literally!

I wouldn’t bet against him…

How do you keep score?

Where are you investing your time, talent, and treasures?

Who are you trying to impress?

Who inspires you?

What is your life drilling for?

Are you living your dreams or losing ’em?

Why?
