The fresh PRINTS of Hilliard…

Last week we held our first practice with a bunch of printers. We never know exactly what we’re gonna get when we open practice. This one was really cool. The head printers had everyone they had hoped for in attendance.

Minus ONE.

ONE made the choice to not practice. Bummer for him. Bummer for the brothers. We practiced, anyway. This was the BEST first practice I’ve ever been witness to.

EVER.

Old guys working the third shift, young ladies from the office staff, accounting types, marketing men, production types, sales honks, customer service and many others were learning why and how to play with printing. They learned some new language. They laughed a bunch. They drank in some 7&7 and realized that it’s more powerful than they had thought. They built each other just a little bit stronger.

The brothers played really well. The brothers are the “owners” that gave the team this great gift.

Last tuesday, the brothers were NOT seen as the BOSSes. They were simply brothers. They ARE brothers and builders. And, they are beginning to look, those fresh PRINTS of Hilliard, like a band of printers.

Very cool.

How’s your team?

Are you bringing them together or letting them play a part?

Are you banding them into something remarkable or watching them slowly, slowly, ever slowly to come apart?

How do you know?

Remember, numbers are a LAGGING indicator of performance…
