Smaller…

Think for a moment about what specific things you can do to make things shrink.

What would happen if you had fewer clients, a smaller operation, less printers, fewer pressmen, not as many producers producing, not as many engineers engineering, fewer accountants counting, less managers managing, fewer field operations operating, not as many carpenters hammering, not as many customer service people servicing, and less money in your account.

I lost most of you on the last one.  Come on back.

Most teams that I work with and most teams in the state of Ohio that I live with are shrinking.  Costs are going up and revenues are going down.  This is NOT necessarily bad news.  This is simply the current state. The future will be owned by those that shrink, think, and return from the brink.  The future will also be filled with those that shrink, shrink, shrink, and slowly or rather quickly become EXTINCT.

The current adversities will not make or break us.  The current adversities will simply reveal us.

BTL Builders keep building even when the economy is shrinking.  BTL Builders think long term and ACT with short term urgency and discipline.  BTL Builders build bridges across the gaps and carry their teams back from the brink.  BTL Builders are comfortable being smaller, larger, or even the same size.  BTL Builders believe in their vision.  They believe that they will grow in fits and spurts.  They understand that organic growths is NOT linear.  They weather life’s storms accordingly.  They stay the course AND they simply, confidently ADJUST.  No big deal.

Others shrink, shrink, shrink, panic, push, plead, mortgage, beg, borrow, steal, and eventually end up EXTINCT.

What adversity has you and your teams attention?

What does your team see when they look in your eyes?
