Matrka…

Today we held practice with my favorite group of builders.  These guys and gals are stinkin’ magic, and they don’t really know it.

Today we practiced from 7 bells until just afternoon and got more done then most teams do in ten times the time.  We learned about the price of a donut and a coffee first.  Next Andy took us through a drawing lesson, Lula shared some thoughts about “square pegs in round holes,” and then sixteen people make the choice to act.

We learned the power behind stop, drop, and roll.  The power is NOT in teaching this tool to elementary kids.  The power is NOT in helping them understand how to stop the fire once they’ve caught it.

The power is in having them do it.  The power comes from actually going outside and stopping, dropping, and rolling.  Very cool.

Today one guy went home to ride.  One put out his smokes.  One decided to stop taking notes.  One decided to change the safety meeting.  He changed it TODAY.  He called the folks from Sequent.  He stopped doing what normal people seem to do too much of.

He stopped TALKING.

He made the choice to ACT.  His action started a contagion.  This is the kind of “bug” every team would love to catch.

Today all sixteen builders walked out of our session with a new habit under the belt.  This new habit is one that every BTL team is going to catch.

Today, everybody practiced and everybody chose to ACT.

What are you learning?

How long is it taking you to put your learning into action?

What can you do today to start the ACTION habit?

What experiment can you take to play with what you just learned?

Done so.
