Bragging is NOT always a bad thing…

Bragging is usually not something we condone or recommend.  Bragging is NOT always a bad thing. Bragging about your team can be a great thing.

I’m bragging.  At least I’m being honest.  I’m bragging about our band of builders.  Isn’t it fun to brag about members of your team?  Isn’t it satisfying to hear your clients brag about them?

At BTL we refer to our team as a band of builders.  Last week one of the participants in one of my practices came up to me after practice to brag about Larry.  He told me how much Larry believes in him and what a HUGE difference that has made in his performance in work and life.  His eyes said it all.

Today, I rode home with one of my clients after a “balls out” bike ride.  That’s code for a really fast ride.  We rode home together and he couldn’t wait to tell me about Johnny.  Johnny is another one of our band of builders.  My client told me about the work that Johnny is doing with three of his team members.  He can’t believe the difference.  It was funny how he described the impact that Johnny was having.  He said, “It’s like these guys are on fire, and it’s not like he’s lit a fire in their ass.  He’s lit one in their HEART.”

Johnny and Larry are a couple crazy builders that love their work.  I am blessed to play with them.  I am blessed to work with all of them.  Larry, Johnny, Jim, Pete, and Doug all bring their LOVE and their unique gifts to every engagement.  Our clients know that when they hire us they are getting a team that LOVES their work, and LOVES seeing people get better.  That is simply who we are.

No marketing spin is necessary.  Very cool.

When was the last time you bragged about your team?

What do your clients say about your service when they speak with you?

When was the last time you “delighted” your customers?

Do you try to light a fire underneath your team or in their HEART?

Tell me more, my friend, tell me more…

  1. I would like to second the comments about Johnny. He is a fantastic man that has “it”. He hasn’t helped me as much as he has empowered me to help myself. That is the cool part.
