I’m always encouraging my family, friends, and clients to keep their eyes on something positive. It’s so easy to get caught up watching the news, which is usually like watching a car crash…over and over again.
One of my fellow builders, Larry, recommended a book as a great alternative to the book I was reading at the time. The book I was reading at the time is titled, The Shack and has been a runaway best seller too. I ordered the book that Larry recommended, like I almost always do, and put it in my stack.
My stack is about ten high most of the time. Lots of history, lots of biography, a little leadership, a little managment, and never enough time to read them all. I start by reading the first and last chapter if I’m not sure the book will connect.
This book had me after the first chapter. I just kept going.
It’s the story of a modern day slave named Denver, an angel named Debbie, a big hitter named Ron, and the uncommon, unbelievable, nonsensical, unexplainable, irrational, LOVE of Christ. The book is titled, Same kind of different as me. You will think you are reading a novel.
You will be inspired.
Very cool.
