Thanks Lora…

Lora works for one of my clients and attends the BTL practices every month.  She does not dominate the practice sessions.  In fact, Lora seems happy to listen, listen, and teach only in small doses.  She missed our last practice, however, and I did notice she was gone.

A couple days later I was in building with the leader of Lora’s company when she stopped by to tell me “why” she had missed practice.  She didn’t need to tell me.  She wanted to.  Here’s her story directly from her.

Twas the night before BTL practice and things were anything but normal at Lora’s house…

“I had a reaction to a medicine that I was taking that caused my heart beat to drop to 20, my blood pressure dropped and I STOPPED breathing.  My daughter called the emergency squad and the medical personnel came.  Apparently, I refused to go with them because I had BTL the next day and couldn’t miss the session.  The next morning, I woke up in the hospital and had at least 10 doctors and nurses ask me what BTL was.  Obviously confused, I asked them why they wanted to know.  They said I kept saying all night that I had to go home and couldn’t stay there because I couldn’t miss BTL.  They thought it was some awesome reality show or something.  They were stunned that it was a training and improvement program at work!

My daughter asked me that day, ‘What the heck is BTL?’  I explained what it was and asked her why.  She said, ‘You were adamant that you were not going to the hospital because you couldn’t miss BTL.  The paramedic kept telling you that whether you went with him or not, you were not going to BTL tomorrow.  You were really upset about it.’

Talk about a vision worth dying for…”

Give your team the gift of practice.  Give your team the time and the training to “get better.”  Give your team the opportunity to grab the reins with their fellow builders. Give to your team and your team will give you so much more than you’re paying for.  They will create a “reality” that is AWESOME.  Very cool.

Thanks Lora…
