Chris and I had breakfast at NorthStar Cafe Sunday morning enjoying those incredible pancakes with real maple syrup….my favorite breakfast! Just as we are about to leave we run into David Rastoka and his friend Janet. Two very up beat and energetic people, the kind you love to be around…..they simply energize you!
I think I understand WHY each of them are filled with so much passion and energy…..they have Big Dreams that stoke the fire in the belly……that simple. David is a story teller and his creative HeartFelt stories end up in the pages of children’s books that are beautifully illustrated, well written and teach powerful lessons of compassion, friendship, love and joy, just to name a few.
David has never given up on his dream, he has faced all kinds of road blocks, publishers who have turned him down, book distribution problems, money…….all the negatives that run 99.9% of the people into the hills for cover! David also has another quality that I admire and it’s the fact that he refers to his TEAM when discussing the writing and illustration of the books. He has surrounded himself with good people, he has a Big Dream that has been nurtured, fed and relentlessly pursued……..his Big Dream!
