Two hopeful signs from today.
Harvard Business School is having their students watch the film, There Will be Blood as part of their curriculum. This movie damns the pursuit of money without meaning. AND, that’s a good thing. Agreed?
I shared a couple of my latest reads with a client, one of which was Michael Lewis’ new one, titled The Big Short. I’ve mentioned this one here previously and do highly recommend it. This book is number one on the NY Times bestseller list. This book damns the pursuit of money without meaning and, in particular, the pursuit of Wall Street toward that end.
One not so hopeful sign from today…
Two conference calls with corporate leaders that clearly didn’t believe in their next generation of leaders and yet felt stuck that they were the best their system had to offer. AND, that’s not a good thing. Agreed?
Remember, every leader gets exactly the team that he or she deserves. We need more corporate leaders that are developing their talent before they need their talent.
Are you?
