Whose name…

Whose name is screamed when soldiers, under enemy fire, find themselves hunkered down, alone, and in a foxhole?

GOD & Mom.

Whose name is most remembered when we find ourselves in pain?

GOD & Mom.

Whose name is most muttered when we need someone to listen?

GOD & Mom.

Whose name is most thought of when it seems there’s nobody thinking of you?

GOD & Mom.

Whose name do we often forget when we’re all grown up and we’re on our own?

AND, whose name welcomes our return like we never turned our back?

Maybe, just maybe, God gave us “Moms” to catch another glimpse, another taste, another signpost, and another fuzzy image of what LOVE, someday, consistently will be.

Maybe, just maybe, God created woman as his final ACT of creation because he planted inside her the ability to carry and reproduce human life.  Maybe, just maybe, this goes beyond instinctual drives.  Maybe, just maybe, God knew that once woman carried and reproduced life, she would change.  She would be different because of being such a carrier of this miracle called life. When her son fell, she would just feel it more.  When her daughter was weak, she would just know how to build her up.  When her man was worried about the future, she would calm his frayed and fragile nerves.  When she was tired, weak, and worried, somehow she just multi-tasked herself through another typical day.  She, after all, was my Mother.

Maybe, just maybe, this explains a little bit more about why so many sons and daughters cry out, especially in times of desperate need, these two names.  AND, oftentimes they’re screamed in unison.

“Help me GOD, I want my Mother.”

Maybe, just maybe, all you Mom’s oughta know.

Thanks Mom.  Thanks Miss.  Thanks to all the worlds Mom’s.  AND, may God bless your son’s and daughters…
