28 and 27…

The numbers 28 and 27.  We know and see these numbers all the time.  They follow each other in line.  27 is always one behind.  28 is always one up.  Lance Armstrong and his Livestrong team have changed the way I look at the number 28.  They just have.

This past Tour de France, Lance and his teammates donned jerseys with the number 28 on the final day of the great tour.  They were attempting to bring awareness to those that were watching.  Specifically they wanted to jolt us with a fact.  The fact that over 28,000,000 humans suffer from the disease of cancer.  Great stuff by Livestrong.  Very sticky.

28.

27 is another number that should register in our memories.  This number ought to ring a bell in our head and serve as a reminder of sorts.  The number 27, I hope, just like the number 28, will rapidly decline is size and strength as we remember and act accordingly.  The number 27 could become a bell of sorts; a bell of freedom.

Freedom, remember, is not only every humans desire, it is our design.  We were made to discover our freedom and, once secure in our freedom, to discover our gifts and present them to our world.  These gifts are rarely breathed into existence without the oxygen that is known as freedom.  That is just a fact.  Here’s another one, fact that is.  This number jolts me at my CORE every time I ponder its reality.  Today, 27,000,000 humans are enslaved.  Shockingly sad and true…

27.

27 million humans suffer at the hands of a human master.  There is not an awareness, yet, of the significance of this number as exists for the number 28.  Our daughter in law, Keturah, and her team at Not For Sale are purposed toward changing this fact.  Check out their work at their website notforsale.org.  You will see this as a link off our site in the next few days.

Let’s raise our sights and lower both these numbers…
