ONE that is stuck to your humanity…

This morning, in one of our practice sessions with a team of car nuts, we practiced “being with.”  Remember, master connectors invest an inordinate amount of their time simply “being with” their team.  This makes no sense to most leaders who overly value “getting busy” with getting better.

The worlds most memorable leaders, remember, are masters at seeing the future with uncommon clarity and pointing us toward the promised land.  AND, they are incredibly empathetic to our plight and our inability to even catch a glimpse of what they see with 20/20 clarity.  These BTL leaders, remember, are curious George AND my way is the highway.  They ask the best questions and cause their team to really think.   And, they believe in their highway so deeply that we follow, wholeheartedly, with our committed best.  Very cool.  Very rare, too.

Most visionary leaders see the future with some kinda clarity and get pissed at their people for not “getting it” and “getting on with it.”

Most followers, therefore, take each and every chance to get even with their strategic but out of touch leader.  When they can, they “stick it to the man.”

The visionary leader that sees the way to the promised land, AND knows what it’s like to NOT, gets a team that wants to get it.  This team goes through the wall for the man or woman at the top of their system.  When they can and even when most situations dictate that they NOT, these team mates “stick with this HUman.”

What is your team doing?

Do you have a team that wants to stick it to you, or ONE that is stuck to your humanity?

Today, we practiced 7 good minutes understanding another human.  We performed a couple rinses.  We shared our learnings and we agreed to a couple productive actions.  We heard a few leaders share the melody line and a couple really cool nuances.  We went back over ground we’ve previously traversed.  We gained further clarity.  We learned how to addiction proof ourselves.  YEA, Baby.  Didn’t expect that one, did you.

God, help me more fully understand each of the people you’ve placed in my sphere of influence.

God, help me…
