Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…

Today, a team “ditched” some of their deeply held beliefs and gained some real clarity as we headed “into the wild.”  Today, we held practice number two and made some serious ground.  We learned a ton about flow and even more about ourselves.  We had another CFO blow me away with their clarity and another big, strong, CEO quiet the room with his humanity.  Very cool.

We learned about the power of 7 good minutes and we learned about each other.  We learned that corporate and the field are on the same team.  Funny, huh.

We learned that this crazy little nutcase (me) might be somebody that can be trusted.

Maybe…

We didn’t travel the road that I had expected, but we traveled the one that the team did.  We learned that top performers always have a vision and want more challenging work.  We learned that video games, great books, and deep conversations with those that we LOVE, all provide the same chemical rush as our most rewarding work.  Who knew?  AND, we questioned our deeply held belief about the level of engagement of our team.  We just did.

We learned a ton in practice number two and we’ll learn more in practice three.

Monday, I played with a team of car nuts.  Tuesday, I played with a team of “sole” mates.  Today, I played with a team called Fishel.  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, where oh where did you go?  Flow, that’s where…

Tomorrow, I’ll fly out to Kansas and simply “be with” my dear friend Bird and together we’ll grieve the loss of his bride.  Tomorrow, I’ll continue to work and live out my big dream.  I just will.

I’m tired as I reflect on what has transpired this week and what lies ahead.  It’s a good tired.

How ’bout you?

Remember, hard OPUS we can sustain as we tire.  Hard Labor, not so much…
