This morning a client of mine had a breakthrough. We were reviewing his version 4.0 of his O&P (Overarching vision & Purpose). The O&P must be clear before we attach the U&S that turns it into ones OPUS.
His vision was missing a piece. I kept asking him questions and frustrating him in the process. He didn’t quit. This is how clarity comes. Eventually he saw what was missing and blurted it out like a prize pupil shoots up their hand with enthusiasm when they “know” they have the answer. This is the coolest part of this work. We get to be there when people “get it.”
Learning anything to the point of mastery, is a long, arduous, and very iterative process. It just is. Most humans quit before they get there because of this fact.
Anybody can write their OPUS documents and fill in the blanks with words. Only a few, however, take the time to truly author their own. Fewer still take the time to PoP it out month after month, to bring it to life by rinsing it with productive action that makes it REAL.
This is the quintessential road that is lightly traveled. This is the one you want. This highway of orange is only for the few that dream and do. This client is on his way. He is around the first few bends and is picking up speed. He is on the road to clarity.
God, I LOVE seeing a few folks gain their own clarity. And, I LOVE being with them on this road as we PoP it out and make it real.
