Actions speak louder…

Tonight we took our usual drive. But, tonight, for the first time in a long time, it was a cool & comfortable 70 degrees at 8:30p, so the top was down and our hands were up.

We LOVE these drives, my son and I. They are among his, and my, favorite form of being with each other. Swimming, wrestling, tandem-riding, even Krogering are great, too, but these evening drives are his, and my, favorite.

We don’t talk a lot. Words don’t mean much to my son. But a wide grin, a big hug, and a high-five go straight to his heart. Mine, too.

Warm words are wonderful. Especially when thoughtfully and genuinely delivered. But actions ALWAYS speak louder…

I, like many, am sometimes guilty of actions less sweet than my words. I’ve heard, “Show me, don’t tell me” more than a few times. After all, actions speak louder…

My son knows exactly how I feel, not by my words, but by my actions. He “hears” me loud and clear.

Think about those you LOVE, and about those you LEAD. And imagine, if only this week, they didn’t understand your words. How would you tell them you LOVE them? How would you tell them you’re PROUD of them?

Give it a try.

And remember, actions speak louder…
