Charlotte…

Conformity.

Charlotte, when I asked where the team wanted to go yesterday, threw out that she had been doing some studying, on her own, and ran across the word “conformity” on page 168 of the 8 Playbook. She read us the definition that she had discovered, gave us her why for wanting to take the team there, and displayed a face, body, and tone that just oozed believability. Charlotte spoke CCD and spoke it in her voice. Very cool.

So cool, I believe, a French Canadian, a good German, a fast paced New Yorker, a Swede, a Turk, A Greek, and even a jerk would have nodded their head in agreement. “Lets go wherever Charlotte is going,” would be their enthusiastic response, even if her words hadn’t made it through their translator. Her smile would have stuck like a 10 point perfect landing.

Yesterday, I conformed, willingly to Charlottes lead. I agreed to go where she wanted and I didn’t go half way, I gave my whole heart to the effort, my commited best. I love following people that know where they want to go.

IF you want less conformity out of yourself and more commitment out of your followers, follow Charlottes lead. You see, Charlotte is not the head of her system. Charlotte is like most of you, working for another. And, Charlotte is not like most of you. Charlotte is grabbing the reins, finding her voice, and leading herself. Charlotte is building her CORE into her sCORE. Strong, high performers only commit to strong, high performers.

Want a better team?

Stop looking for conformers and start turning up Charlottes. Yea, BABY…
