Give and take…

I’ve begun to lose heart for writing here. I’m starting to see that my sharing here might simply be “adding to the noise” that all of you have more than enough of.

This morning, I woke up early and sat down to read and write. I decided to write about my CORE and my OPUS. I rinsed both. The “about” button at the top of the blog contains the Overarching vision and purpose of my opus. The “O&P,” if you will. This rinse feels clearer and more authentic.

Next I rewrote my identity statements. This can be found by clicking on my name at the top of the blog. This too feels like it is closer to the mark. For me…

Which brings me to this. Your job, if you want to become BTL, is to author your OPUS, your CORE, and overtime and through all kinda struggles, productively act your way forward. In essence that is all that I am doing. I am authoring my life. I want you to do the same. I want to be a catalyst for your great work.

Y.O.U., however, have to do the REAL, HARD, WORK.

I hope that this writing about my struggles and victories and the struggles and victories of my family, friends, and clients inspires you toward the aim of authoring your great work and life. There are no shortcuts and most of this climb is vertical and painful. Simple, paint by numbers kinda art is not what we’re after. Your opus, your masterpiece if you will, is gonna take some time. I hope that my writing here contributes to your clarity. If it doesn’t, it’s just more noise and you don’t need more of that.

Give and take care, my friend.

Give and take care…

  1. I am listening and learning, Chet. Your writing definitely is helpful to me in the authoring of my own life. Please keep it up! Thank you.

  2. I really like the line “author your life”. It is just that simple and just that hard. I like it because I am immediately excited by the thought that I can be and do anything that I am meant to be and do. The hard part is sorting through all of the clutter of the last 50 years to remind myself who I really am and what I am meant to be. At the same time, while on that journey we keep growing and learning and the jouney takes different routes that are found along the way. You can not find those different routes until they are presented as you move forward through your experiences and interactions of each day given to us.
I appreciate your writing and coaching because to me you are modeling the way. You are not perfect, none of us are but you share the struggles of which we all can relate to in some way or another and go forward. We need each other to help each other.
    Thanks for working with me.
    MM

  3. Chet,
There is a lot of noise on the internet, but your voice is not one of them. Your voice gives hope and courage to continue on the highway of orange and reminds us that we are not alone in the struggles, the victories or even the process. Keep authoring your own life and our band will author and embrace the acute pain to bring our masterpiece to life.
