Today, I met face to face with my new client in Denver. I introduced him to the 12 playbook and took him through a little Chateubriand. We covered some new ground and gave him some of the basics around where we’re headed. He began to understand the difference between becoming BUILT TO LEAD and his last coach who periodically met him for “coffee talk.”
Today, my client and I came to a deeper understanding. Very cool.
And, I kicked his ASS.
I pushed him to plank for four minutes and twelve seconds. He discovered the “shake of truth,” and felt some acute pain. He is going to feel some more of that good stuff on this journey together. Very cool.
And, I told him that his leader does NOT believe in him. I reminded him of a few facts he already knew. I used his anger as a postiive. I rarely do this, but I’m not above using whatever I have to. I explained to him the process. We will use anger as jet fuel until we gain clarity of his OPUS. Then, we’ll replace it with Love.
Tonight, I’m in the Denver airport headed for home and for the 3PP in the morning. God, I love this work and these folks I have the privelege of building along the way. Another BTL day is about to go in the books. I don’t know if it was work or play. It sure felt like both.
See you soon, my fellow builders. See you soon…
