The most frequent counsel that I offer to my clients is so simple it’s often missed. Here it is. Do NOT miss this. This could be HUGE.
My most frequent counsel is, slow down.
The data world we live in tells us we need more facts before we can rest, more information before we can decide, more mountains of tweets, texts, and to do’s before we take our eyes off the prize. We’ve become a nation of very anxious folks, led by anxious leaders who are anxiously studying their analytics for closing out the quarter, the month, the week, the day, and even the hour, ahead “of plan,” whatever that means. We are a populace in a hurry and running out of time. How does one run out of time, anyway…
Slow down and reflect.
Does your strong CORE calm you?
Does your strong CORE keep you standing up straight?
Does your strong CORE allow you to bring your presence not your pain?
Does your strong CORE serve as your compass?
If answering these questions requires time, energy, and effort, you’ve been busy building somebody else’s way.
Slow down. And get busy, building within…
