Distinct and deeply connected came to life today in practice 26 with a team of 8. One of the newbies was disconnecting. He heard something he didn’t agree with. He didn’t think it was alright to say what he was thinking so he began to disconnect. I called him out, in a gentle kinda way. He spoke very ccd and made it clear he was thinking differently, at least from some. kman told him his thoughts were valid. I did as well. I’m not certain he believed either of us. Time will tell.
Transformational teams are great because they are NOT alike. Greatness comes to couples, communities, and companies that encourage everybody to think. Of course there will be differences. Distinct and deeply connected is the kinda ONEness you want. And, this kind only comes when we fight the urge to go turtle, throw away the protective shell we call a mask, and get comfortable becoming the original we already are.
Today, a team of 8 practiced the art of becoming BUILT TO LEAD. Trust was built. Shutting down took a hit.
It’s not about opting in or out, is it. It’s about choosing to remain open. Becoming the original you already are is all about Y.O.U. becoming BTL you. Deeply connecting is all about allowing others the same. Becoming ONE , I guess, is all about opting to remain open to both.
