Eleven guys rolled out from the Powell Gazebo today at 1:45. We hadn’t ridden together since last fall. Some had been riding a ton on their own. Some not at all. Some were ready to ride like the wind. Some were getting winded just at the thought. All were simply happy to be out. We rode together for 35 miles. It was a good ride, an easy ride, a welcome ride, and a surprising ride too. Most of all it was another reminder of why the BTL tagline sounds squishy and simplistic. And, its NOT.
Together we improve is what we demand from ourselves and expect from our clients. Today, like everyday, I experienced, lived, and was blessed by this tagline; Together we improve. Sure all humans desire to become autonomous. We want to stand on our own. And, once we are, we all look around for someone beside us, someone in front, someone behind, and someone that gives us a sense we belong. Humans, remember are wired to belong and become. One is no good without the other.
Today eleven riders rode out of Powell. Together we improved. Riding alone is alright. Riding with these guys? The berries.
Leaders, remember, help us develop a a sense of belonging. Monday is coming. Show your team they belong…
