Jeremy is golden…

Today, in practice 31, Jeremy was golden. He’s new to this team but you would never know it. He’s only been around since practice 24. Translation. He’s only been working with this team for a couple months and yet here he was, today, sharing his version 1.0 of his worldview. Serious stud, huh.

However, if you were to ask him how he felt about sharing, as I did, he would have let you in on a little secret. He was scared shitless. He thought he probably sounded stupid, as he recounted the little voice in his head. He received a little worldview correction from me right on the spot. Jeremy, you see, is a freakin’ genius in the making. He is the real deal. He’s on this tight team because he deserves to be. He is keeping it simple and quietly appreciative of his blessings. He doesn’t need a golden toilet to know he’s arrived. He believes in hard work, simple pleasures, and that 42 inches is wide enough for his viewing pleasure. Very cool.

The coolest part today was watching the kman crazies ask good questions of their new teammate, Jeremy. The curiosity in the room was electric. Everybody had taken the time to prepare for this practice by productively acting upon what they learned from the last. Van fights aren’t needed to rock these folks off their butts. You see, the kman crazies have got it going because they’ve NOT bought into the concept of sitting still and getting comfortable.

Today, Jeremy’s genius was built. He took a risk and put himself out there. He came to practice prepared. He spent time in his room, alone, with his pen and paper. He buried his fear, heard his little voice, called it a moron and shut it up instead of believing it’s limiting lies. Jeremy went a bit deeper and, in practice 32, he won’t just lead the way in running maintenance, he’ll lead us down our inner plumbing to the very depths of our souls.

Yeah, he’s that good. Jeremy, you see, is golden…
