Today, in practice 33 with a really cool team of eight, we ended with each teammate writing why they think this team is so cool and what qualities we want to see in our next teammate to make it even cooler.
Here’s the answer. This is the answer for your team too. This is some kinda weird and something very rare. Here it is. Do NOT miss this. This is HUGE.
Teams with chemistry always have deep trust, diversity of thought, and domain specific expertise. Deep trust is where it all starts and deep trust comes from getting tired and coming clean together. Few ever taste this at their place of work. This is why BTL practice is the berries. BTL practice builds trust. BTL practice takes a leap of faith from the leader. Few leaders can stomach what it takes 30 plus practices to build. Few leaders can handle the chaos that comes when they simply become one of the teammates. Few leaders are willing to trust first. kman is building a team with chemistry because he chose to go first. He trusts the team, first.
Want a better team? Become a better leader. And, remember, you have to go first to build a team with chemistry. You have to model the way, embrace pain and suffering, and embody truth in LOVE. Chemistry is really cool. And, chemistry comes at a high price. Few are willing to pay, practice, and patiently, patiently, painfully, and more painfully, wait for the performance gains to arrive. kman is a believer. His team is better because they are building deep trust with a bunch of crazies that think really differently and, at the same time, are building domain specific expertise that simply blows away the competition.
Cooler is coming. Cooler, you see, is being built through practice after practice after practice. Chemistry is cool. Chemistry comes at a price. Chemistry comes with practice. Chemistry requires patience. kmans team has it and you can feel it when you’re with them.
What vibe will I catch when I’m with yours?
