Yesterday, during practice 59, we learned the best way to connect others to your opus is not to tell them about it. Kathleen brought up a common concern – how do we explain BTL to our family, friends, and clients. How do we get them as excited about our OPUS as we are? The answer is quite simple.
STOP telling them.
STOP going home all excited about your newfound clarity and babbling on and on about how you’ve found your melody line and are learning to tune in like an animal being stalked. Your spouse doesn’t really care. Your friends and clients care even less.
If you are becoming BTL, keep your mouth shut. SHOW them. Show them your strong CORE through your more consistent and productive actions. Show them the power of your OPUS by your willingness to make things right. Show them what it looks like to love your work and your life. Show them what it feels like to be around someone who is CORE centered, self controlling, and NOT trying to control them. Show them. Show them. And, keep showing them the way. Someday, a few of ’em, may notice and ask what’s up.
SHOW and tell. It matters the order. Do NOT mix them up. SHOW and tell, my friend.
SHOW them…
