STOP & Stand…

What follows is a ccd example of BTL practice with a client experiencing anxiety that is over-running his thinking. Anxiety, by its very nature, overrides the neo cortex (thinking brain) and cedes control to the amygdala (emotional center of the brain). We slowed down and got to the root of this particular strain of anxiety. As you read what I wrote to my client, extrapolate to you. You may see some kinda root of your own…

This kinda anxiety is rooted in you and your “giving up control” when you do not think the one in charge has the better way. STOP this shit. You don’t really lack control. You lack balls. Grow a set and a lot of your anxiety will go away. Period. End of story. You did everything right during your prep until the end. You presented your highway and heard theirs. Yours was better by a mile. You knew it. Your mistake was in not taking a simple STAND. You were afraid of being perceived as a poor teammate. Instead you participated in a poor performance. You chose to go along with the suites and their superior position, not their superior idea. This will always produce anxiety and the “I told you so” kinda moments don’t make it feel any better. STOP & Stand are 100% in your control.

My client wrote similar clarity. We both felt better. You most likely want more control too. Funny, isn’t it, how much we give away without thinking…

STOP & Stand, my friend. STOP & Stand…
