Your job and mine…

My job is to study, learn, and apply the most PA toward the aim of making my clients whole. My job is to study them. Learn their habits – the patterns that lead to their performance. And, apply my knowledge to the toughest, hardest, and most productive action possible.

My job is not to be their friend or cheerleader. My job is to build them. My job is to make them do what they can. And, my clients can do a lot. My job is to make them better, anyway.

My clients invest a lot of time and themselves toward this aim. Every interaction, and every practice my job is to awaken, challenge, and transform. My job is to build them better than they could build with another or on their own. My job requires that I constantly push myself to get better. My job requires that I demand more from myself than anyone else. My job is to build, period.

Today, you too have a job. Nobody really cares about the shitstorm you’ve got going. Nobody wants to hear about your excuses. Nobody cares about the event that just set you back for days. People simply want you to do your job.

Your job, if you’re a leader, is to love your work and love your team enough to master your craft and master the art of catalizing a few masters around you. Few do either.

Your job, if you’re a leader, is going to force you to cheat toward a few high performers and make them even better. Your job is to build. Your best building is with the few that appear to need it the least. Your job is to study them. Learn the tinyest nuance that could pierce them. Get them to internalize this change and make it their own. And, challenge them from your belief to go further than they believe they can. Your job leader, if it’s to be done well, must be your passion.

How well do you love your work, my friend? How passionate are you about mastering your craft?

How well do you love your team, my friend? How passionate are you about making your best even better?

Love your work. Love your team. Your job and mine. Simple and real, hard, work…
