What kind are you becoming…

We are built for relationship. Deep relationships transform us into the originals we already are. We are made to relate. And, our closest relationships are poison and wine, bitter and sweet, and laced with loyalty while filled with conflict.

Jeffrey Marx, author of the book, Season of Life speaks clearly to what it means to be a “real man.” “Masculinity, first and foremost, ought to be defined in terms of relationships, it ought to be taught in terms of capacity to love and to be loved. If you look over your life at the end of it…life wouldn’t be measured in terms of success based on what you’ve acquired or achieved or what you own. The only thing that’s going to matter is the relationships you had. It’s going to come down to this: What kind of father were you? What kind of husband were you? What kind of coach or teammate were you? What kind of friend were you?”

What kinda man does your family see when you walk in the door? What kinda man does your team see when you walk into a meeting? What kinda man does your company see when you open your mouth? What kinda man does your neighbor see when you pass him in the morning? What kinda man are you becoming. Remember, we are made to relate. We are made to belong and become.
