For most reading this rant, English is your second language. The problem is you think it’s your first language and you think it’s mine too. I speak Chet. You speak you. If we were to TALK and could somehow see our neural networks working, we would notice them both investing a boatload of cycles trying to interpret what our ears were hearing.
Most conflict is simply a conversation to be had. Most conflict is the result of misunderstanding. Two craniums came together, spoke the same native tongue and didn’t take the time to listen to each other’s interpretation. The problem is you think you speak clearly. The problem is complicated cause you think you hear what is said too.
Practice this to see how good you really are. Next time you speak, before your intended receiver responds, ask them to tell you what they just heard. I’m betting you’re going to be surprised…
