3PP, SEALs, TRX, and thanks…

Churp and I strapped on the weighted vests, smiled, and welcomed 5 other crazies into the 3PP ( push up, pull up, plank, Palace) early this morning. The timer was set for 1:12:12 with 106 intervals. Yes, I watched the movie “Lone Survivor” twice this week. I promised myself after both viewings I would never complain again about anything. Two minutes in, however, I was whining and wheezing – already gasping for air. Yes, I am weak bodied – fairly strong willed and known to whine like a banchee.

We all shared the weighted vests. All 7 of us failed at various points during the 1:12:12, 106 interval test. Nobody quit. Churp made me do what I didn’t want to do when we got to the one legged stuff toward the end. I wanted to give us a break (mainly me), and put both legs in the TRX – he simply told me to try. I kept arguing, he remained calm and told me to try. He made me do it – or so my mind told me. And so we did.

I am thankful for these fifty and sixty year old men and young Churp & Kary who come and make each other better. I am thankful for the push from downer to get my hips up. I am thankful for sloLO showing up. I am thankful for FM and his questioning of the obvious – kinda takes my mind off the moment as we swear and laugh. I am thankful for clean, his laughter, and his push for another rep. I am thankful for jmo and his quiet grit. I am thankful for Churp and his generous spirit – even when it includes 50 lb balls 🙂

I am thankful for our Nations warriors, their ethos, their sacrifice, and the freedom they GIVE us. I will do my best not to waste it. How ’bout you…
