Denial and deep change…

Denial is the normal minds friend and the better man’s arch enemy. Most normal humans when faced with facts – painful ones especially, that suggest the need for deep change, get busy denying. Denying the need for deep change leads normal humans to slowly die. I see this every, single day in all kinds of practices with all kinda “good” people. Humans fear change and are scared to death of deep change.

This is why I use colorful language and paint painful pictures. I’ve come to understand this is how it’s gotta be to get through. Recently, I jolted one with the words “train wreck.” His good work has derailed his life and his relationship with his wife. I attempted to awaken him to his need for deep change in a couple deeply engrained habits. Our nice time together took a turn for the worse. His face reddened and his words passed warm on their way to red HOT.

Lead anyone. Lead anything and you’re gonna deal with tons of denial. Your job is not to be your teams friend. Your job, if you’re a leader, is to be the change and be the catalyst for deep change all around you. My advice to you is to expect resistance and deepen your arsenal for awakening.

See why you gotta have a dream worth dying for?
