Margaret Thatcher once said something about women and power I kinda liked. “Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are, you aren’t.”
The more powerful you and I become, whether positionally or personally, the more likely we are to become proud of our strength and growth. This kinda pride divides. Remember, our aim is to unite and overtime and through adversity to become ONE, distinct, deeply connected, and BTL. Pride will be your biggest problem as you pick up positional and personal power. Don’t believe me. Study history; you’ll see. There are NO equal partnerships. The strong, in any kinda partnership, simply carry a bit more. So, if you’re still feeling the need to broadcast, still keeping score, still finding yourself wanting to make the weaker around you feel like they are less – you probably aren’t who you think you are.
God, help me lead. God, help me pick up my cross, follow You, and STOP looking around to see who acknowledges my newfound courage, the size of my cross, and the size of my steps. God, help me humbly lead. God, help me help the weaker ’round me feel your strength and as a result feel more NOT less. God, help me…
