Practice 112…

Today, during practice 112, we went back to the beginning of what I believe it means to become BTL. We clarified the definition of worldview. Definitions matter and we gained clarity around some of the most important ones. We walked through the definition of “alert and oriented times four.” We listened to jmo’s beta version of his builder’s journey. We took it kinda slow and easy.

And, we ended practice by answering a simple question. I asked the team of twelve to write what they thought was the biggest challenge facing their team at the moment. I primed them not over think this and get busy writing what first came to mind, so to speak. We went around the Sunday supper table and spoke and listened to each teammate. We wrapped it up in a nice bow. I reminded the team of twelve, they just heard more about their teammates beliefs than they did their thinking.

I think they mostly got my point. In case you’re not getting it, let me be clear. The reason we invest so much time and energy in insisting our clients author their worldview is because we, fundamentally, believe this – Leaders are believers.

Leaders are believers, yup that’s right. Are you alert and oriented enough to know yours?
