The roots of your peace…

Everyone that I know, including myself, has conflict with tons of folks.  In fact, most of us have conflict with just about everyone with whom we have contact.  Client after client wants less conflict and more peace.  They believe once they’re in power, once they’re in charge, once they’re not under their father’s thumb, once they upgrade their spouse, once they get their problem child out of the house, once their neighbor moves, once their CEO gets fired, magically “peace” will appear.  Funny, huh.

As I study my own conflict and the conflict I’ve seen up close and personally with my family, friends, and clients, here’s the root of most conflict. The root of conflict with another is conflict within.  The root is always tension within. We will never achieve peace with another prior to discovering and living this TRUTH...

Within.

Want more peace with your family, friends, and clients?

Get busy identifying your conflict within.  Get to its root.  See your pride.  AND, build your humility. Fall on your knees and get in the habit of yelling less at other people.  Get in the habit of crying, instead, for help.

“God help me” would be a great place to start. Remember the Apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:17. “And, I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

Peace with others is rooted within.  Who/what/where are the roots of your peace? Slow down and reflect…
