O.P.U.S. is a BTL acrostic we use to describe our labor of love. Thanks to Shannonball’s initiative some years ago, we took a word we used to describe our work (opus) and created the acrostic. FM, baby. People have asked me to share mine and I’ve done so countless times. Here’s my O & P. The U & S change all the time but the Overarching vision and Purpose have only been nuanced over the years. A strong O & P should guide your aim and be kinda like your North Star. Here’s mine for what it’s worth…
My overarching vision is to grow old, but not tired, with a band of CORE centered builders, families, friends, and clients who love each other, who love becoming BTL, who embrace pain and suffering along the way, and who try like hell to embody truth in LOVE. And, I want to inspire future generations to build it even better. Together we improve. FM, baby.
My purpose is to Awaken, Challenge, and together Transform a few individuals, teams, and leaders into ONE. ONE, distinct, deeply connected, and BTL.
I hardly think about the overarching vision now that it’s clear my aim. However, everyday, I bathe in my purpose. I evaluate my days, weeks, and months in light of my purpose. My purpose is always top of mind. I hope this answers your question, Jim. And, I hope this helps those trying to author their own. Your O.P.U.S., you see, is the ONE that matters most.
