Justice and karma are over-rated. I’m not saying justice and karma aren’t a big deal. They are. Grace is just so much more. Grace, you see, makes no sense and never will. Jesus not only taught grace, He modeled it. He didn’t tell his followers right & wrong. He didn’t teach from a textbook. He never wrote one either. He gave his life. Jesus modeled the way, embraced pain and suffering, and embodied truth in LOVE.
Grace.
Aim here my friends. Don’t follow me. I suck at grace and always will. I am overly tuned to my sense of right and wrong especially when you wrong me. Hell, I even keep score with my own family, what makes you think I’m somehow gonna give you something more. I’m a weak, needy human on my best day. The best you can expect to get from me is some kinda golden rule measure of justice.
Today, I counseled a client of mine to stop being weak like my natural self and give his bride some grace instead of the justice she most certainly deserves. And, I reminded him and yours truly at the same time to stop trying to give what we can’t. Now you know why I wear a cross and pray kinda ccd all day long – God help me.
