Start slow…

My most frequent advice to my clients might surprise you. I tell ’em to slow down.

Slow down.

According to Rchard Restak in his book, Mozart’s Brain and the Fighter Pilot, he describes slowing your breathing as the best way to get your brain chemicals back in line when they’re under heavy stress. Start by slowing down. Good. Want to avoid the worst of all reactions to stress? Want to stop PANIC before it starts?

Control your breathing. Start by slowly breathing in through your nose and then opening your mouth and letting it out. Isn’t it amazing how simple some of life’s solutions truly are?

Start slow. Slow it down. Stay slow.
