As the garage door went up this am at 6:22, the first thing my eyes saw was Stud and jmo straddling their bikes and raring to go. In a couple minutes Blondie and Tyler roared up the drive followed quickly by Shoe. Mickanator motored down Pennington shortly thereafter and the young lad and his dad rolled up as we began to clip in. By 6:27 we were rolling toward Johnstown. The winds were calm, the temp was unseasonably high, the convo was happy chatter, and the pace was just within reach – at least for me.
You see, every weekend once the weather is good, there’s a ride or two where a few strong men make me a bit better. downer was off graduating his last daughter so we caught a break you could say. The road was filled with “rabbits” and downer loves to chase ’em down much to my twigs chagrin. Today we covered 60 miles in roughly 3 hours which included a refueling stop in booming Johnstown. Good.
Today, started off strong. Miss and I are saddling up for round two. She’s getting her Nikes on and lacing ’em up tight. We’re taking Jo and Tank out for a nice long walk. More good convo while we’re moving it a bit slower. Once young Tay awakes he and I have some core work together and then we’re detailing Mom’s car for one of her Mother’s Day gifts. Tonight will be finished off with a good meal with my partner, Peteboy and his bride, Chris. Miss and I will retire with full hearts from a full day.
You and I are meant to move, friend. Sometimes fast, most times slow. And, we’re meant to move together too. I hope you enjoy your day. I hope you move it. And, tomorrow, I hope you make some memories with Mom, your bride, your loved ones, and remember to keep moving – slowly. Good…
