Fear in action is easy to spot. It looks like nothing, most of the time. Fear, you see, most often looks like nothing because most humans, most of the time, are not prone to panic. Fear, the kind that’s gone all the way into the panic zone looks like crazy action – like pulling down your rescuer when you’re a non swimmer thrust suddenly into the deep end. You will rarely panic as a fear respone.
Mostly, you’ll do nothing.
Most normal humans, remember, tend to freeze when they are overwhelmed with fear. This has been wired into us as a survival mechanism for many, many moons. It worked back in the day when the sabor toothed tiger approached you out on the savannah; not so much today when you put off having that hard convo with your struggling teammate. Fear in action looks like nothing. Today, during practice 142, a few were given the chance to take a swing into their fear. A few swung away. One hit it out of the park. Most simply rested their bat on their back shoulder and watched the softball sail on by.
What kinda action you taking to swing into your’s? You see, in this game called life, you’re much better off getting in the habit of swinging. Life isn’t like golf. You really don’t have to play all your foul balls, now do you. Go on, friend.
Swing…
