Train and test…

Leaders train their team. Leaders train them technically, mentally, and put them under pressure on purpose. Leaders test the team. The point of training is to train the teammate. We don’t trick the teammate and we don’t take it easy on them either. We train them to make them do what they can and what the team requires of their position. Leaders are always training. So, my friend, are virtuous teammates. You see, you are your best trainer. You know better than anyone what you know and don’t know and where exactly you need to acquire skills to master your craft. Your job is to become a student and a teacher. Don’t wait until some leader tests you. Put yourself to the test.

The teacher is not judged by how well they teach, how well they’ve mastered their craft, or how skilled they are in communicating their knowledge. The teacher is judged by how well their students learn and what they are able to do with it. The teacher’s job is not to show their knowledge, it is to share their knowledge.

Share knowledge.

The way we measure how well the teacher shared is through the test. Of course, the teacher is only a part of the training equation. The student has to show up ready to learn and curious too. Today, a team of krazies were missing their leaders and missin Newbies too. So, we got after it. I pushed them a bit harder because their were no newbies to be wary of scaring. Jimmytheccdbeareded one came to play. Batman got real. Bradlee got curious. I was very offensive and made a few uneasy. AndrewNOpaul learned he’s the problem. He’s got to be clearer on whom he’s challenging and not offer blanket comments out of fear. All in all it was another good learning opportunity provided to a team by an absent owner. The test for this team is what they’re going to do with this learning opportunity. Are they simply gonna try to apply or are they going to go a bit further and make themselves do what they can. Do or Do not, remember. Do or do not. Good…
