TWI…

Today, during practice with CBear, I invited in one of her peers. This wasn’t planned but it felt like the right thing to do at the moment. So, I varied from my practice plan. You see, CBear is off the charts responsible, high on organization, and tough as nails. What she says – goes. Grappy is off the charts creative, high on energy, spontaneous, and super tender. She stays between the lines. He crosses ’em. She runs a tight practice. His are a bit loose. She does everything right. He does the right things. They are both one percenters (top performers) and solid citizens. Today, I challenged them to sharpen each other. They can make each better if they become curious and challenging truth tellers and hearers. They work in the same world even though their sports are very different. Like so many around you in your system, they have the potential to build each other…

Grappy asked the first curious question and CBear answered ccd. Both made some mental notes regarding the learning. I wrote a bit. Nothing major, but something significant. Grappy learned how CBear handles something as simple as showing up late for practice. He learned something about her belief system and his own. She learned a bit more about why he isn’t so firm and he learned why he isn’t getting what he wants but exactly what he deserves. It’s easy to simply want discipline, isn’t it friend. Are you getting this? Good.

Your best builders are not from BTL, remember. Your best builders are from your peers, spouses, friends, and teammates. BTL is here to provide you the practice, framework, and certainly be one of your few – just not the only one. Make sense? Who around you is making you better? Who around you are you making better? Who around has complimentary strengths? Who around you is wired opposite to you? Remember, opposites do not oppose in the laws of physics. Opposites attract. Together we improve. We don’t even have to be the same level, work on the same team, or share the same beliefs. For you and your teammate to experience synergy and taste flow, you’ve just got to share one, tiny, belief. You’ve just got to believe that together, you’re better. Want a better team, friend? Become a better builder and let your team become your builder too. Good.

Together we improve, friend. Together we improve. TWI…
