Practice 170…

Yesterday we held practice 170 with a team of grapplers. These team practices began back in 2014. Seems like yesterday. We’ve now welcomed ten classes of freshmen to the concept of becoming BTL. Kinda blows my mind to let that sink in. What started as a guilt trip from Durp (crazy client who introduced me to Grappy – HC OSU wrestling), has turned into work with OSU WSOC, mens Lacrosse, Wrestling, Woman’s basketball(built by Rachel), HC practice for all OSU HC’s, Captains practice for all sports captains (2x/year), and one on one work with HC of WSOC (The Wizard), wrestling (Grappy), Lacrosse (Nick), and WBB (Kevin – built by Rachel). This past year I did something completely nuts. Took on Travis (Lacrosse assistant HC) instead of taking on a paying client. Makes no cents. Makes perfect sense to me…

I am a Builder who wants to finish better than he began. So, I’m doing exactly the work I want, with the people I want and the teams I want. Damn.

So, in practice 170 we went back to the beginning. Introduced a bunch of young dudes to the concept of CORE work.

The BTL six pack is freakin’ magic in the making. The framework works. But only if YOU do the work. Most of the work is done outside of BTL team practice. Excellence requires a lot of solo effort, you know. BBTL is no different. You learn how to learn in practice. You learn how to fail. Learn how to win. Learn how to level up. Learn how to be who you are whether losing or winning. Yesterday a bunch of freshmen grapplers learned a hard truth – few can handle freedom. Damn.

Thanks, Grappy, for your belief, your friendship, your trust. Thanks for your relentless desire to do better and build better humans. You are one in a million. See you at 171. Thanks, Durp, for challenging me to get outside my comfort zone. Together we transform. Always together.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder…

  1. Amen, Chet! Saying yes to and living out our personal calling in life and in work, by God’s design, leads to immeasurable joy and meaning and eternal impact! Ephesians 2:10.
