Love & loss…

C.S. Lewis was right. Love anything or anyone and your heart will surly be broken. My heart, most likely just like yours, has been broken frequently this past year. Feeling life means embracing both sides of the coin. It’s not heads and tails. It is love & loss.

Today, if it went according to plan, we would be riding (day one) in the French Alps. Our first “out of category“ climb would be under our belt. The beauty and beast would have me perspiring and smiling. Hanging with friends and family, around Lake Annecy, would have been the perfect finish to the day. Life, however, doesn’t always go according to plan. My bride and I changed our plans because her health required we do so. It was an easy call to make even though we both have a distinct sense of loss too.

Love & loss. Truth.

Love God. Love the work. Love the team. Love the building. Accept the breaking. Embrace both sides of the coin. France IV is a year away, not today. I’m feeling a sense of loss. Feeling filled with more love too. Your life is filled with love & loss. Focus on the love to’s. Water those feelings a bit more. Remember, the grass is always greener where you water it.

Live hard. Love ❤️ harder. Much harder…

  1. I’m so sorry for this real loss, Chet, of your long-awaited France IV, yet I champion your viewing it all through love. Faith and Hope are only needed this side of heaven…Love endures forever. Thank you, Gu!
