Masters marry the mundane. This is another worldview belief of mine. Here’s what it means to me.
Masters understand that depth trumps breadth all day long. I don’t need hacks. They do not build mastery. I don’t need fancy new skills to add to my arsenal. I need depth. I need to deeply understand the fundamentals and practice them over and over to the point of being able to do them in the dark, in a world of distraction, and through the pain and suffering that comes when it feels like I’m doing it a lone instead of with teams becoming all one.
Masters marry the mundane. Solitary practice defines them. They make the ordinary look extraordinarily. Deliberate practice is the tool. Finding flow is the game. Honing signature strengths like Messi’s left foot is freakin’ magic in the making. Depth. Mastery of the fundamentals. Do it again. Damn.
Live hard. Love ❤️ harder. Depth…
