A client gushed goodness my way today. Told me our practice is his favorite time of each week. Here’s what I told him.
That’s great. There will come a time when you don’t love it. I’ll push you past your comfort zone and into chaos (at least in your mind). You’ll want to quit or at minimum mail it in until the passion returns. Do not swallow the pill. Practice is hard. OPUS is hard. Life is hard.
Marry this. Marry the mundane as long as it aligns with purpose. Masters marry the mundane. Masters understand why we practice and expect the hard. Masters understand the comfort zone is the real enemy. Masters get comfortable being uncomfortable by consistently doing hard things. Through is the way. You?
